That's your opinion... for me it's a matter of discretion - nothing else! In my country it's legal to take pictures without having a shutter sound. It's even legal to record your own phone conversation without letting the other party know that the phone call is being recorded.

To those who are in countries where the above isn't legal - don't remove the sounds!

It's as simple as that

There's no way to post files at Esato! Btw, I'm not being harsh - I'm saying that people shouldn't have an opinion about sounds they never listened to. Here's a good example: Suppose I say you are butt uggly. I have never seen you! Would that make sense?

Here's a link to where you can download an archive with all the files from the K700 - sounds, pictures etc. Camera shutter is of course also there

No but there are other free ways and I'm just saying that no one will register to download a file just for listening to a sound ...

Well, people who don't bother to register to download the sounds shouldn't have opinions about them (the sounds) either! I don't bother visiting your home, and therefore I don't give an opinion of your looks - pretty simple, eh?

People who are truly interested in these packages and have the knowledge to use SE Tool will bother to register - trust me

Why is everyone getting on CyberVisitor's back?

He has given you all access to a few files you could use to replace the defaults, and also info on the camera noise (I say noise because that's what that is). Does not mean he is perverted. People hate that camera noise. I don't know of any other mobile device with a camera that has a noise like that, my iPAQ sounds great, my mates Nokia sounds good, Sony Ericsson models, rubbish. I know it is like that so you can't be "discreet" with the camera but it is annoying nevertheless.

And, like he said, esato does not provide a way to host files, only pictures. How long will it take you to register to get the files? Not long! If you want to find something to complain about, complain about the search function on this site, talk about inaccurate!

CyberVisitor, great work, keep it up. The files (and indeed the stuff on mobile files) are very helpful.

Voicing an opinion about something is not necessarily being hard on someone. If anything, in my opinion, the sounds are not offensive, however did you stop to think for a minute that SE knows that these sounds can not be silenced? Maybe for legal reasons (the land of the stupid lawsuit = US), people who are photographed without knowing will somehow figure out a way to sue the photographer and SE. They are just covering their bases. Second, I do not know where you have been, but have you missed the stories about people being photographed without their knowledge and suddenly being shocked to see themselves in compromising situations? Not to mention that camera phones are banned in many private places. Also, CyberVisitor has stated that his country allows the recording and photographing of people without their knowledge. I would love to know this country because it sure ain't in the Middle East and Europe. Which leads to a "possible" credibility problem. I do agree with you about the registering to get the sounds though. However, after visiting Esato and hearing the horror stories of people screwing up their phones with hacks, unlocking, unbranding, etc.... I never go down this route and I have a friend that works at SE and can have my phones unbranded, unlocked for free, but I do not bother.
