Hi guys

I have a phone that I think was orginally on Vodafone (I bought it on an auction) and I'm using it with Orange now, so the deleted data accounts thing is a real pain.

It's not clear from this thread though whether a firmware update will actually solve the problem though

My firmware is R2E006, and my MFG Date is 02w21

Should I get the firmware updated or not bother?

Chucky

Gents, just had my T68 upgraded from R2E006 to R2F004. I am afraid that it hasn't changed the issue with lost Data accounts when you turn the phone on / off. Real dissapointed there. Guess that I will just have to live with it

I have exactly the same issue..

Even my MMS settings are useless!!

connection type, user ID and password are gone from ALL of the WAP profiles too.

R2E006 - flashed only last week!

I am having the same problem too. Bought my T68i in Philippines but it's a Taiwan set, upgraded to R2E and still didn't help. Advice.

Hello All-please look upon this email with pity, for I am completely at a loss for all of this. I have a home in Paris but also have residences on the East and West Coasts of the US. When I am in the US, I am on the Cingular Wireless network, which just launched its GPRS service (I know, I know....). I have a T68 for use here in California, and for the past 7 days, I have not been able to get it to work (GPRS and Wap that is). I have looked at the threads detailing how to set it up and such, but have found that with your levels of expertise, a few simple hints would definitely set me off on the right path.

Secondly, how are you all getting these firmware flashes? Are they doing it for you at the service centers? Or are there software out there that can be obtained and done by me? I looked inside, where the battery sits and find that it is a T68m, with 02W02...could anyone tell me what firmware I'm working with? Presumably old!

At any rate, I'll keep plugging around until I find a way to get this up and running. My network provider, Cingular, keeps telling me that everything is activated on my account, as far as they are concerned, but my phone is the culprit. Thanks, all, in advance for any help I could get!!!

I have been reading this thread and I'm surprised to find lots of people out there have this problem. I bought the T68i about a month ago and two days later I discovered all my data account settings & bookmarks disappear everytime I power off the phone.

I called SonyEricssson here in the US, but they offer NO help whatsoever. They suggested, like everyone else who'd called them before I am sure, to ship the phone to them and they will flash it to another firmware. Well, judging from what I had read, some people claimed the R2F firmware didn't resolve the problem...what a pain!!

I returned the phone to the dealer and got a new one. I tested the settings before I left the store, everything was fine for about 2 weeks, then the same thing happened. This time it could have been the fact that I did a master reset on the phone because I couldn't connect to the Internet. I am still not sure if the reset did something to the phone and I had the same stupid problem all over again.

I traded in the phone with yet another new one two days ago from the dealer - bless their heart for letting me do this. Now it seems to be in working order again.

Someone mentioned about some carrier sends settings everytime you power off the phone. I have T-Mobile, but the default data account is somewhere in Asia which has nothing to do with T-Mobile. I find this very very strange.

I think putting together a petition is a great idea for people who have been frustrated by this problem.

Perhaps, if possible, you guys should go back to the dealer and exchange for a new phone.

Cheers

Hey, I am in San Francisco with T-Mobile. I will be happy to go over the GPRS settings with you if you can drop me a note to sfaguy@yahoo.com

Basically, you need to ask Cingular for APN & DNS entry, and I can send you some info as to what to do where, OK?

You need to setup a data account for Cingular and also a WAP account that uses the data account.
