Debranding will void the warranty because you're loading a different software version from what you're bound by and it cannot be reset. You're doing basically the same thing the network does when they brand the phone and change an unbranded handset. They're a customer just like you and buy unbranded handset off SE and then go through the process of flashing them with branded firmware, locking it and branding the case before selling it on.
Anyway, in most cases they won't even go through the trouble of checking what you did to the phone and just make sure everything's there before giving you a replacement. I try to avoid getting a handset direct from the network for the reason that you only get a refurbished handset as a replacement so I stick with 3rd party retailers.

I'd get the S700i if you can get it cheap, but not if its still high priced where you live.
It might be worth waiting for the K750 in June.

@JasA
If you want something different then definitely you should go for the swiveling S700i!

It's obvious now that it's a limited-edition design, a deviation in the evolutionary path of the block-shaped K700i, whose direct descendants are the K750i and W800.
The S700i is special. It has a much bigger screen than its K/W series cousins. And the 1.3mpx camera is very good (see the S700i photo thread).

Sony Ericsson has a project with famous photographer Robert Clark to promote the photographing ability of S700 (S710).
