I think 9500 if the work with business software is essential, otherwise P910 (smaller and has better functionality). 9500 has much better third party software support.

Look.. It all boils down basically to ur dad's requirement.. A touch screen is indeed a powerful factor n the fact that p910 will b more convenient to carry but that nokia thing has edge as mentioned in earlier posts n of course that it enjoys third party support more.. Jus list the features of both the smartphones in front of ur dad n i'm sure he'll himself will decide.. Best of luck..

The Nokia 7710 is a nice fone too . . . much better than the
