Anyone who is genuinly wanting to access their Orange.net email account & send/recieve from a t68i using the dial up method heres what you have to do. first go on line to freeserve & set up a "no ties" account. all you need to write down is th user name & password that you decide on. ok here are the phone settings.
menu>messages>email>options>add new
name=freeserve
con using=freeserve (this may need to be done later if you hav`nt set the data comm part up yet, it`s laid out below)
proto=pop3
inc.server=pop.orange.net
inc port=110
mailbox="put your orange.net password here"
password="put your orange.net password here"
out server=smtp.orange.net
out port=25
email address="put your orange.net email address here"
download=headers & text
from name="put the name you want to show the mail is from ie, john"
signature=no signature
copy outgoing=off
check interval=off
Ok then go to menu>connect>data comm>data accounts>add account>gsm data
acount name=freeserve
phone number=+448450796699
user id="put here the user name from the freeserve account ( for example if your freeserve email address is bob@bob.freeserve.co.uk your user name would be bob.freeserve.co.uk)"
password="put in your freeserve password"
password request=off
data rate=9.6
dial type=analgue
dns address=195.92.195.94
you can go to your orange.net account online & set up free text alerts.
note, you continue to use your orange email address for sending & recieving. these settings are working settings,given out by orange technical on 156 from an orange contract handset.
