It's a matter of taste and needs. The style is not all.
What good is a phone with style and a crappy interface?
SE RULES ! I have 3 different SE models.
They all have their uniqueness.

Not every phone company is there to fill every niche with a product. Just as not every car company makes a line to fill every consumers need and expectation or niche market. SE makes great phones.

People, people... how do we define "classy"? It is subjective. One man's meat is another's poison.
You ask me? Methink the Nokia 8800 is crap design. It is a far cry from the days of 8250. The rounded base just doesn't suit the entire metal feel... but that's just me...
You can't come round and make statements like "O... the K700 looks like a toy..." Cos I do know that there are many, and myself included, who would vouch that the K700 design beats the crap out of the 8800. Then again, that's just us...
I am using the P910 and again, methink the design is exquisite and sleek. But I don't go about pounding Nokia for "not coming up with a classy design like the P910"...
Note: Please don't slate me for saying "My P910 is classy"...

1. I don't like the look of the 88-Nokia. The high-placed keyboard makes no sense because there's a huge monolithic bloc at the bottom and the rounded base is too much of a 'let's try something else'. The sliding screen is nice but then Samsung has done this better.
2. I don't know if SE is the kind of brand that can make a phone like that and get away with it. SE is more of a 'techies' brand and expresses understated style. The new t290 is a good example of how SE adds style by simplicity. SE is about good taste, Nokia is about expensive taste.
It would harm SE's tech-credibility.
3. On the other hand, SE has some credibility in design. The K600 is an example of what an expensive phone with a mostly design-value could look like. Make the K600 a bit smaller, if necessary by throwing out a few features, get rid of the remaining plastic and there you have an 88-killer.
Because if the K600 would bear the Nokia label, we would have doubts about the design, but with the SE label the 'gestalt' would be complete.

dont want them to be classy...
K750i, stylish but not classy?
Definently not classy.
noki@s 7710 compared with the classy P900.

in my opinion the 'budget' range of SE phones are just as good if not better than the nokias. It was the first phones such as the T68 that forced nokia to start remodelling in my opinion.
Anyway, the p800 looked the bomb back in the day, and my p910 turns heads now, so im happy!

Looking at the pictures above, the Quickshare-sticker puts the phones one class back.
