The speakers have built in amplifier. Also, i can connect the speaker system to 3 sources simultaneously and toggle between them using the remote.

the power output doesnt mean its going to sound good...you could have a 9000watt system and it could sound like total ass..
you need to get one with a good frequency response, and equalizer.
the 5 is the amount of speakers
the 1 is the amount of subwoowers
my freind has a 7.2 dolby ex system
altogether its worth near to 100 000 AUD
if you can find yourself a set of bose 902 speakers that would be the ultimate sound
