dont forget that gates also said that desctop computers would overtace the tv and that never happened. hes smart at running companies, stealing ideas ( mac os) and doing things behind people´s bac ( lots of software companys have been closed due to microsoft) , but mobile media s other business

Don't have to like him but he didn't get where he was by being a drooling idiot either. I don't particularly like him but I don't have to be friends with him either
@opinion about the ipod coming to an end
he's right in some ways, single function devices which of the moment the spotlight is mainly on the ipod, will converge with other things.
TBH I could see the "Ipod" brand becoming like the walkman brand with SE, something that gets stamped on other products to show it has support for it or is built around it. I guess its one way to get itunes to support something other than just the ipod.

Lots of devices DO other things but lets face it, people are buying ipods and other portable music players because of just that - to play music while on the go.
The Xbox and PS2 can be dvd players, yet alot of people i knwo still have stand alone players even after buying their console.
My k700i has lots of functions yet for it i keep only using SMS, Calls and the Radio. (Only the W800 seems likely to change some of that behaviour for me but i'll wait and see)

I have a PS2 on top of my DVD player. I have an MP3 phone along with my iPod. I have a digital camera but I'll also have a 2MP SE K750 soon...

As i see it i have to agree wit him im an ipod 40g 4th gen. user and also i have an 9500 nokia witch i use for buissness purposes ... meaning 90 percent of my time . As 9500 isent a small device i started to leave my ipod at home becouse carriing the 2 devices around is just too much for me ... i have an 512mb card in 9500 wich satisfies my song collection from work and back all do the sound quality is worse than on ipod its just enough and therefore my ipod staies ato home.
In the future we can see more music phones comming to market se w800 nokia n91 etc . witch will have bigger storage and probobly inproved if not the same sound quality as ipod ... this is where i see ipod loosing the battle it just too specific device for today yes its great working has iconic status but at the end of the day in my opinion that will just not do ...
