Even if there were a virus via email specifically for cell phones, the operating system for each type of cell phone is still very different. PCs are easy targets because there is such a large portion of users with the exact same OS and browsers. Furthermore there are programs, like Java or Outlook, that will open files or install things on your computer without asking by design. Additionally it is possible to change system files on Windows without a restart. This is not the case on UIQ. Since phones store the OS on a firmware chip, changes to those files must be initiated during an externally powered restart. This sort of restart just doesn't happen on accident, the phone has to be on the cradle, so the possibility of accidentally allowing a virus to permanently change your system files is relatively low. Just know that your phone's basic functionality is fairly safe.
Malicious programs could still be installed that send info or whatever and could be set to autostart, but it would be relatively easy to know if you were installing these and stopping them should be fairly straightforward. So for now don't be too worried unless your phone starts asking if you really want to install something you didn't start.

I wouldn't be so sure there will be no virus in the near future...
I never used this, but I noticed SMAN has a Bluejack feature to send an unathorized file to a phone...

I don't want to sound too harsh, but anyone who leaves his phone discoverable to the world really deserves what they get.
