Gmail does not work properly (can't receive mails) with the built in mail client on pxx0.
there are 2 options how to check mail:
1) use Profimail
2) use Opera

Are you with Tmobile USA? If so you need to set up email account at Tmobile.com first. Than it will give you all neccessary settings. If you need more info just PM me. You cannot go straight to Gmail server, must go thru another server.

I can read write send plus download all attachements with my built in email client.

PXX0x CANNOT recieve Gmail messages due to the lack of setup of some of the ports needed to recieve email through Gmail. You can only setun a port needed to send email.
I'm not sure if SE will include this option in the next firmware releases though... Due to their good-known firmware policy this month
