indeed, i still use my MZ-N10 minidisc recorder, but mainly for recording conversations.
but you cant compare mindisc to blueray as minidisc was invented as a portable version of CD not as a replacement.

@fat, it DID take off in Japan, China and the Middle East.
(more in Japan of course.)
They were using Mini-Disk much after the iPods came out.
My girlfriends car didn't even have a cd player it had a mini-disk player.

the idea of keeping a disc in a shell is so much more sensible, as CD's and DVD's tend to get scratched, MD's never do! so the bluray disc in a shell is a great idea.

Dont get me wrong i loved my MD put mp3 are less hassel (no need to carry around a bunch of disc)
Anyway back to blue ray.
It will only take off if its price is right (and goodmans can release cheap ones).

Well most people cant afford top end dvd players so tend to buy the cheap ones. Imo dvd only really took off after companys like goodmans started selling affordable ones.

HD-DVD eevn though Blu ray has more backing...I agree I dont think we will see any Blu ray drive in the PS3 just another Hype ...Ow and Live

Sony already announced Blue Ray for Ps3. Btw,price of Blue Ray player was $1,800 last time i looked,Ps3 will be between $300 and $500.
