Now, why would he format his system? All you have to do is get programs- spybot 1.3 and adaware se 1.06. Or if you can't get them, there's even more simple way- go to registry, and delete the annoying app. If you don't know how pm me. This message was posted from a T610

Ahhh, that's what what you need Hijack this for, it lets you completely remove the startup item rather than just disabling it with msconfig.

If you can't get hijack this then you'll have to use msconfig on selective startup, as others have suggested.

Alternatively, you could use regedit to search for the file and remove all references to it in the registry, but you'd have to be very carefull doing that for obvious reasons!

Go to startmenu/run. Type regedit. Expand LOCAL MACHINE. Go to software/microsoft/windows/current version/run. Delete whatever looks suspect. There's on problem if you delete everything, although sound or/video tools will disappear from trayicons. Then check the runonce record just beneath. This message was posted from a T68i

i suggest that you do as suggested above, but ONLY remove that particullar app that's causin problems. if you remove something that was not meant to be removed, it won't be painfull, but will be unpleasant. that's why i reccomend you to get spybot and adaware, they have all the tools you need (including start-up configuring etc.) and they are free and easy to use.

That's also true, but for those 2 I can guarantee. Check any security forum, you'll see they are most recommended anti-spyware sw. This message was posted from a T610
