It'd be interesting to know of all those who have had problems with the phone crashing etc as to what memory card they are using? Is it the pack-in one or have people been used different ones and still getting crashes?

I only ask as I haven't used the pack-in one at all since I got the phone about a month ago now (using a 1gb card), and I have not had any crashes at all...
Has anyone asked sony-ericsson if it could be that?
Anyway, just a thought.

I have not bothered to upgrade the fw having decided to wait (if it ain't broke don't fix it etc) and see what other problems arose - glad i didnt, now that the video bitrate has been slaughtered.

Ive sent two k750i's back and on my third one now.... this one crashes just as much. It now resides in my desk drawer rather than my pocket as at times it is almost unusable. I've noticed that my k750i has serious problems pairing with my moto v620 via bluetooth with the new firmware- it freezes and then you cant switch it off (that trick where you hold down off for a long time doesnt work) so you have no choice but to get the battery out. Dont get me wrong- I reckon it does churn out some nice pictures and has a pretty and practical UI but as a phone my v620 outperforms the k750i in the phone functions department and has never gone wild. The moto's far superior call, build and audio qualities have made it my primary phone. How I regret getting the k750i! Im a little disappointed with SE. They only bring out one new phone in this class every year and when it comes its riddled with problems! Oh well I guess I have to wait for the new firmware.

@ Numb

Are you an SE employee? You definitely advocate for them well.
If I'm not mistaken, you were the first to post pics before the phone was ever released.

I believed you or someone else, made mention of you being a tester.
Hmmmmm........

Either way, what's important here, is that the same way we all help each other here, we can also express dissatisfaction. Why call it moaning or complaining?

These phones are not cheap, the reality is, SE needs to get their act together. I convereted from Nokia many years ago.

The thing that Initially attracted me, was SE's UI. The menus were, and are definitely better than all others in my opinion. The one thing that I will agree with Numb, is the frenzy to get SE phones upon launch.

Never the less, not an excuse for SE to be so careless.

I've been a part of Corporate America for years. When this type of slopiness occurs, heads start rolling. In other words, sepeartion of employment takes place in many levels. I wonder what SE's board room is like when they screw up at this level. Maybe it's not an issue, it all depends on who is at the helm and the level of passion around customer satisfaction.

As customers we have a right to express, those who are happy and have no issues, do not make light of those who are going through the pains of malfunctioning products.

Reo:

To be honest calling for a consumer watchdog when not everyone is having probelms is something I would consider moaning IMO.

Not saying the K750i is perfect, hell the threads go to show that a number of people HERE are having issues, but then the threads also show that alot aren't. So you have to wonder how big the issues actually are.

Issues do appear alot more concentrated here because this is an forum.

Buggy firmware, well aren't alone in that at all, but they do seem to produce the best buggiest software out there. But at least it looks like they're trying to resolve it in a fairly timely manner.

Maybe their test units didn't freeze, and it only happened out in the wild, if you do any sort of work with computers you'll know how troublesome intermitant problems are to track down. I just finished a rebuild on a customers laptop 2 days ago only to have it completely die yesterday through no rhyme or reason at all.

We have a similar TV show here called Fair Go, a friend was telling me about the program they did on cell phones. People were upset and demanding replacements and warranty because *gasp* manufacturers weren't fixing at their own cost Liquid and Impact damaged phones. I'd call that complaining and whining.

Besides in the end what would anything do, tell to make a firmware update asap? Something tells me they would be already.

If it doesn't suit, get the dealer to refund the money, buy something else or be patient and it'll get sorted out. You don't need to be an employee of to realise that.

On re-reading numbs post he's also talking about how people jump on the bashing band wagon when threads liek this appear and they just get out of hand. Heck, if it hadn't of come out we'd have numerous "When is the K750i coming out" threads and "Sony Ericsson are so behind everyone they can't release models" threads.

No problem so far with my k750!
It has frozen a few times, but that has happened so few times its not worth discussion(first week I got some).
Though the mp3 sometimes make a strange noice changing/playing songs, but not so much that I would have to return it.
If you dont enjoy it place it on your collection shelf and pick another SE while you wait for firmware upgrade?:p
