@m0hammad
When you can get hold of a card reader!
Go to a command prompt.
Type:

format f: /fs:fat

Substitute f: for whichever drive letter the reader is given.

Using the /fs switch you can specify the file system (fat,fat32 or ntfs)
Type format /? to get the complete help file

thank u all,

went to my friends home, and his 5MP cybershot cant find my MS duo pro (in its adapter)!!!!!!!!!! What should i do?? ANY help plz?? I have already told the sequence of events, here they r again -

""""Now, thing is, i used the Memory Stick Duo with my friends digi cam (sony cs5.1mp), and then put it in the P910a. I viewed a couple of pics i took (takes an awful lot of time to load 5mp pics don they??) on my set. There were no problems till then.

After that i connected my set with the cradle and started coping some Mp3s to the MS. It didn copy at all, gave some unknown error.

I took out the card and re-inserted it, and now it says corrupted drive. I have tried formatting it from my set's control panel, but no luck, it says "corrupted drive".

Furthermore, my card-reader has no support for Memory sticks, neither do i own any other MS compatible devices.
"""''

Option 1: Return the MemoryStick.
Option 2: Buy a cheap card reader that reads MemorySticks and try again. On fail: Goto Option 1.

Thx for the reply Lau.

Do u mean to say the MS duo is corrupt, i mean dead??

P.s. cant it be that these old 5mps from Sony doesnt read such high capacity ms cards? Just a thought.

I don't know how flash devices work, but I remember that no floppy can be recognized by the OS if track 0 is bad.
It can not be even formated. Maybe it's something similar.
Also, how do you know it's not shortcircuited (toasted)?
Do you have any way to prove it's still "breathing"?

my memory stick got corrupted, but it had a 5 year guarantee. I took it back to the shop, and they gave me a new one.

This seems like the simplest solution (unless you bought it on the internet).

If you dont have any important files on ya stick duo just put it on ya fon nd format it m8, memory card is almost impossible to get permanent damage, if you bring it bak 2 th dealer they just format it nd sell it to another person

hope u can fix ya memory m8 nd d/l movies from my site

pm me if you still got trouble m8

mate, thats my problem - i cant format using my P910a, it just insists i must format it, but when i try to it says its corrupt.

And, where i live, its difficult to get a MS-reader without getting ripped off. Next time i go to USA, i'll get it from there. For now, i need an alternative soln. I have described my current problem 7 posts above........

THX for ur help,

p.s, i try n click the ads in ur site everyday.
