Same here, my memory stick was inside the phone (which is default as it appears) but mine was also a Sony, not Sandisk... and it was Empty.
I think it's kinda strange too that SONYericsson W800 ships with Sandisk-sticks and not a SONY ones.
Yes, they are cheaper and almost the same but it would be the same (kind of) as if Canon used Minolta-lenses in their digicams because they are cheaper than the ones Canon make themselves.

ahh- but some people could be stupid enough to put the sim card in the ear-peice, thats what the instruction booklet is for! its a very good point but it still dosent seem 'Brand New'
So maybe it was like a demo phone where people would have ago on it but then it was sold...

All my W800i`s came with the Sandisk MemoryCard already inserted in the phone as well.
But there was no preinnstalled songs on them
