This mornings call at 8.10 was told Nov 6th again . . . at least they're getting consistant about the dates now

Just called O2 and spoke to a lady that sounded like she would top herself if another person asked about the P990. Anyway.....I was also told week commencing the 6th Nov.
Btw I've been following the P990 debate since the summer but only just registered - great forum!

Phoned also, just now. The release date is 6th November I got.
Just to let you know that the text service is now available again, where they will notify you on the stock of the p990i (and other phones if you wish)
I was put on the list finally!!

To add to the confusion I called O2 select and asked about the text message as I was on the preorder list for last two weeks and the following PS was handed to me "you are one of the lucky ones as the list is closed and no one else will be added to it, the date now is 30 October as they are not happy yet to release it and few things need to be sorted out by SE first" ??????????????????????

Does this mean that O2 are actually holding out and not releasing the phone until the next firmware upgrade is out or something?? If they were it'd be nice if they told us that!!

I think that o2 are waiting until the firmware update yes. There have been so many returns on other networks.
I would rather wait until the phone is stable that send a handset back!
I don't think that the people at customer service will know, it might be better to try and ask sonyericsson directly?
