I would like to contribute my share of the bugs but unfortunately my CDA version has no latest version yet. Any way, thank you all of you for your efforts to convince SE for the need for continued support for UIQ3 phones.

i hope so much, that we will get more fw updates for the p990, but i do not believe in an email from the support. that is by far not enough to stop all the startet action! i want to hear something from a offical side. till then we should not stop to spread our word and think about other possible actions.

if you call the support, you will find someone, who would claim that there is no p1 coming out or that they only know about the firmware r5, because r6 is not released yet.

Let me clarify, the response I got from SE support was an email, written and sent by SE support and logged in their system as such. I would say this carries more weight than the other announcement which Johan relayed to us.
At least now I have an official statement from SE which is legally binding. They accept the bugs and promise to get rid of them. Let's see what time will show but I doubt SE support could send such an email without SE HQ's approval.
I agree that we should continue our efforts, shows we are on the right track.

i wana join this group!!! i got my p990i just a few weeks ago.. and i think this is the biggest BUT a REVERSABLE mistake i ever made... i belive that we can group together and make SE continue FW for this phone... anyways i got the r4B03 firmware (branded) and i dont know if i would upgrade!!! i really even know how to UPGRADE.. im scared that if i made a HOME upgrade.. i would get the r6 and i heard all negative comments about it.. so im not trying to upgrade my FW yet.. can someone help me... which firmware is the most stable?? im talking with my other PHILIPPINE friends and i hope we can make a trend here too...

r4B03 is an old fw and its a thousand miles away from r6 in functionality. So my friend dont wait a second but run as fastest as you can to your PC, instal Sony Ericsson update service, run it and follow the instruction. After fw update you will change your mind about whether you made a mistake by purchasing P990 or not:) It is because you would feel you got a completely different phone:)
