It does really make me think to be honest when companies release phones and they constantly have problems do these companies actually test the phones software before it goes out. It really narks me off when you sign upto a contract or pay alot of money and you get such pap. Surely if car companies did this and there was accidents there would be hell to pay. I just think its not good enough. I never hardly hear of problems from Samsung or some other companies so why is it always SE or Nokia.

Hello,

How about the softkeys in the lower part of the screen? My friend, who has an K850 from January, is disappointed with these keys, since he rather often accidently presses the button with his chin, when mobile talking. This leads to the phone sending SMS without his knowledge, for example.

It this a common problem? What do you K850 owners say about this?

I've never had that problem of pushing the softkeys by accident whilst talking on the phone. Certainly not with my chin!

They are fairly hard to get used to but eventually you will learn how to use them well.

I've found that I use my thumb nail and not my thumb to use the directional pad. This is because if I use my thumb the middle softkey can get pressed.

Do the softkeys work by sensing pressure?

Never had any problems with accidental pushing of buttons , soft keys are great once you remember its not the screen you touch but the little white mark, mine works flawlessly.

I just bought my K850i last week (see my sig).... I finally managed to create dark pics that people are talking about that's because either my finger or my Krusell case was blocking the light sensor (I think it's the 3 tiny circles near the flash) without I knowing it.....

so far, I don't have many complaints about the phone's physical build. I have some complaints about the software. I'm pretty happy that I take this phone, was deciding between N82, P1, and this phone.

my complaints (mostly software):

- why does SE have to put SOUND on the bottom right screen when we're calling someone? why don't put the usual "SPKR ON" or "SPKR OFF"?!

- why doesn't the phone recognizes the duplicate file name? it just put 1,2,3 behind the file name. annoying! at least tell the user that it detects duplicate file name!

- why remove the option of "mark all" for choosing mp3 files?! I'm tired of having to put tick marks on all my 200+ mp3s!

- why can't I put the timestamp on pictures taken, like in my K750?

things I don't like but I still can live with it:

- when using the phone with computer and choosing any other mode than PHONE MODE, it's like a computer coming back from hibernation, phone does a boot cycle, and the theme resets back to those rainbow moving thingy. good thing it doesn't reset everything like my Nokia 6630 that resets theme, ringtone, and even color scheme.

- color quality of pictures are worse than K750, but overall picture quality for indoor pics are better (less grainy and less tiny dots)

- upon opening the camera when indoor, phone always uses night mode or seemed to be setting slow motion mode (pictures in LCD moves very slowly when we moves the phone away)

well, so far that's I can remember for now....
