Hey Japsy,

I hope that you are correct, however, I would still have hope for a new phone, based on a hardware problem. SE here and in Germany have indicated that there is possible HW problem which was my basis for the h/w prob. If they can fix it via s/w as well, I can live with this, but I would still like the free phone.

Maybe what Japsy means is the developers can include proper error handling for this event. All software programming is essentailly the same in the fact that if you have an error you must have an error handler to handle that error if not then it goes unhandled and usually causes a crash to whatever system its running on (or in this case a reboot).

If this is the case with the S700 then it should be fine now.

I have R3M from Multiserver and have no noticeable problems.

DC:UK,

Did your phone exhibit the reboot problem before R3M? Have you tried the experiment described in this thread on reproducing the problem?

Thanks.

I have only had the phone 2 days and just updated it last night. I tried to reproduce the problem to no avail. Didn't try with the previous firmwares.

That is a trajedy, was so looking forward to an error free phone.

Gbrooks, do any of your sources have any comment about the apparent failure of the fix in R3M?

Hey Japsy,

Just updated to R3M. Rebooted first time I tried. Called SE Finland. They said that this problem is driving the engineers crazy. They can duplicate it but not on every phone and with different software versions. Universal translation = we don't know.

@Rookwise,

I used the SEUS with the DSS-25 and it worked perfectly. Being that I have all of my stuff on the MS Duo, I do not mind performing a Master Rest before and after the flashing. I can get my phone up and running to where it was in about 30 mins. This is what I usually do and I have not had any problems. Still reboots though.
