Well the good news is that the O2 text message service is working
The bad news is that the text message I just received says the P990 has been delayed until W/C 13th Novermber 2006.
I sense yet another £20 goodwill gesture from o2 to keep me waiting!

I have been on the list for the last 3 weeks and never got a txt. So few minutes ago and after reading here I called select to see why I have not been sent any updates, I am told not to worry and that I am on the list and guys listen to this the date of release is 6 November, I asked her to make sure this is the date so she asked me to hold and came back confirming that the date so far is 6 November. God only knows???????

On the 27th Oct I was quoted 30th Oct, I'm a Select customer... :-/ I don't even dare give them a call before the 18th when I'm eligible for an upgrade.

Yeah i'm a select customer (i'm think) i've had 4 text messages over recent weeks, each message simply saying the release date has been delayed, the latest being as mentioned in the previous post...13 Nov.

I got FED UP yesturday and got my p990i from carphone warehouse!! I am now a proud owner. I got o2 to give me my PAC code on the spot and now have an unbranded phone. Just to let you know. NO crashed or re-boots in the first 2 days and everything is ok.
I am still with o2, but have a much better deal, got them to give me a free phone too.
If anyone is interested in the deal details let me know.

Snap!! I was wondering past CPW at lunchtime and popped in. They had 5 in stock and were prepared to give me a deal £30/month, 400 anytime minutes, 100 txts on an 18 month contract and the phone for £99 but £30 off as a gift for moving to CPW and another £20 off for a trade in (which they waved because I was going to have to leave the store to get an old phone) so £49.
I am therefore now subscribed to CPW for the next 18 months - I hope it doesn't hurt too much!!
