Signal with DiGi fluctuates a lot. Full line with Maxis... GSM900 has better indoor signal compare to GSM1800 - DiGi.
DiGi + T610 = Worst RF
Other phones with DiGi give me full or -1 line, with T610, always fluctuate at the red zone to 3 bar only.
To All : Try playing Minigolf! Does your screen flickers? I hate it! Now having headache because of the flickering screen

SE T68i and now T610 has a poorer reception than other phones. This is becoming worse with DiGi. Are you having a DiGi line?

Nope, using Maxis. It's the same I think. I compared. Just a wild thought. Could this be caused by my SIM card? Seems like out of the question but still......

Guys, nothing got to do with the telco. It seems this is a bug in the R1A in T610 which has already confirmed by Ericserve. That's why, they have R1L to replace.. the only thing is that, this firmware is not for Chinese Handwritting handset. See. DiGi now also support GMS900 / 1800 which actually provides better coverage... Daniel also confirmed that Maxis also the same case what....
Just wait for the upgrade..

Do update us if the new firmware for Chinese Input is available.
I am getting very pissed with this set. Flickering is so bad during game play, and now even playing around in the menu and viewing static pictures also flickers. I have gone to EricServe yesterday, for don't know what reason, they opened my T610. That makes more dust going in.
They said they changed the LCD, but I didn't find it stated in the job sheet. Their solution for me is :-
1. Reinstall game.
2. Wait for firmware upgrade.
1. Reinstall game will help? Even the pre-installed Minigolf is flickering badly.
2. New firmware? I have two set to play with. The first set with the same firmware and a totally same phone doesn't flicker so badly! I doubt the new firmware will do any good. It must be the hardware problem. I wonder why the inconsistency with Sony Ericsson.

Alex, the guy at ericserve told you about the signal strength problem and the new firmware will resolve it? I also called Ericserve before reading your posting as well and he didn't mention that. He said I should leave my phone there for 3 days for them to check. If it's the firmware, then I'll wait for it to come out before sending my phone in.
SE-Fans, u have TWO units!!?? You are a TRUE SE Fan!!

@ Daniel,
There are only two options which I ask you to be patient and try it. It is either the firmware or your hardware. The reason I ask you to hold back and wait for the firmware is because the T610 replacement part are not fully in yet in most of the service center in Malaysia. If you leave it there for 3 days, they could either repair or swap a new phone (very rare option). So, if they have to repair, don't expect your phone will still looks good as there is definitely scratches or marks as the T610 are very polished look quality. I don't think you'll love your phone again after the repair.... that's why I suggest you try the firmware upgrades before you choose this option... at least, if the firmware able to boost the RF, it will save your pain.
Well, as for the flickering screen, all I can say is that SE is still very new in "Screen" positioning. P800 and T610 has got lots of screen problem. For P800, the screen are always to have pixel failure whereas T610 screen are always flickering.... SE really need to improve this area.

Have been using the phone for 2 days, and so far so good no hissing, no flickering, ringtones loudness is good (I'm satisfied on volume 4 as well) and my DiGi always show full RF here
Unfortunately I bought the InfraRed adapter already, what is the average price in market for bluetooth adapter anyway?
I tried to connect to my friend's 7650 via bluetooth but it need passkey...wonder what's the passkey? And I sent a ringtone to his 7650 via InfraRed successfully but his failed, wonder why ?_?
The chinese version can switch the menu language to either chinese or english, so far I just thought that it can input chinese only so this function is good for me cause I can hardly understand the meaning in chinese menu, all I want is can input chinese words via sms
Searching for screen protector/casing now, any good suggestion as well?
It was a really 'Happy' birthday for me

Alex, thanx for the advice. When I heard him saying that I have to leave my phone for 3 days, I thought forget it. I'm not parting with my T610. Yup, so I'm hoping for the firmware now.
Shadow, the Bluetooth key is about RM120-130. Just use any number for the passkey as long as the both of you use the same number. FOr instance "0000".
Any idea how a Nokia 3650 can send ringtones to my T610? I can send ringtones to my wife's Nok 3650 but she can't send to me!! Cannot lah like that... heheh...
