I'm going to get my P900 converted to a P905, then try the P910 version. Hopefully if it's just the map size I should be ok.

Its most likely to be a copy.

Route66 for the P910 is just starting to emerge on the usual P2P outlets. So if you are going to get a copy, I would get it yourself and not line someone elses pockets.

I got my P900 flashed with the P910 bios/software.
Put in a nice big 512mb memory stick.

Installed Route66 Mobile Britain 2006 for P910 (cd version), and it all works!!!!

App uses about 135mb on memory stick.

The voice could do with being louder so I'll maybe try putting a small speaker on.

You can edit the WAV files in the speech directory to be a little louder. I batch edited them to go 6db louder with Adobe Audition

I dont know anything about sound recording, but that was a cracking idea pikey. It was really doing my head in about how to try and get them louder.

Does anyone know of any freeware programs that would allow me to do this? I wouldn't spend money on a program I was only going to use for 1 small job

you can do it in sound recorder (Windows gumf!). there is a "increase volume 25%" button, but you have to do each one individually. Don't go up too much either as the quality deteriorates, and the speaker can't cope with a lot more without complaining.
