Just received a text with my PAC from O2 followed 10 mins later by a text saying the P990i has been delayed until 27-11-06. Conisdering I spoke to someone at O2 CS this morning who spoke to the "SWAT" team to confirm that w/c 13-11-06 is most likely to be stuck to I am shocked and disappointed AGAIN. No wonder they said they will do my 1000 mins, 200 sms tariff for £28 per month on a 12 month contract. I think the phone will hit the O2 stores before it hits O2 direct.

Just spoke to one of the shops, wasn't overly helpful, but reckoned that it wouldn't be the 13th....

Madness.... I don't really know what to say apart from that I'm still looking at the 18th as my upgrade day... They've got 10 days before I'm throwing my toys out of the pram!

I wish we could get more info on what has caused the delay. The comment of a component issue is all I have been told and means nothing to me.

Also the info is inconsistent. After the text I have called about 5 times to hear several different stories;

1 - Component issue
2 - Software issue
3 - It is coming on 13th
4 - The date on the HRM system says 30 November
5 - I am sorry but there is nothing we can do

Frankly on www.onestopphoneshop.com, there is a great deal from Orange on an 18month contract with 13 months half price. Agreed it is through redemption but it's a great deal and worth considering.

I'm going to ring O2 in about 5-6 days and check to see if the P990i is available, if there's any doubt, I'll request the PAC code. On the 18th I'm walking into an O2 shop, if they don't give it to me, I'm going to the first fair deal network...

... Anyone know how to get the P990i on Web n' Walk?

sorry for the delay people.

I have confirmed again today and 02 have approved of the p990i.

02 are currently waiting delivery of the handset now from SE and should be with them with in a week or so.

Regarding the Branding, from what i have found out (None) appart from the 02 pics.

** Before you guys wander of to Orange **

Orange have branded there phones to hell, they a network locked, and some of the menus have been removed. (Settings menu is one of them so you cant mess with them) The home screen has icons going down the left hand side of the phone like most of the Orange phones and these cant be removed or switched of. (You have been warned)

Vodafone branding is verry little, appart from a few voda pics and logos thats about it (So far)

I haven't received notifciation but the CS staff I have spoken to have come out with various dates;

13 Nov
27 Nov
30 Nov &
4 Dec

Basically they do not look very likely to release it. Twits, them...and us for waiting.
