Oh yay. My K750 reboots just the same way as S700 does
Placed on my desktop pc and it reboots. Put it on my Viao laptop and it doesn't reboot.
S700 was the same.

What the f**k is going on?Does the K750i has the same problem? Why does this problem exist? Can anyone give us a proper answer in that question? Why the hell does K750i & S700i reboot? Can anyone talk with a service person to tell us what exactly happens with the phone?

Hi sapporobaby,

Any news back from SE yet?
As a S700i owner, I am also fighting with SE customer support on this issue.

SE UK have gone quiet on me too! I think I have them scared.

They gave me the standard bullshit like get the latest firmware loaded or send the handset to the UK repair shop (ACR Logistics). I spoke to ACR directly and they haven't a clue about this reboot failure.

This is major design flaw and is present in ALL S700i phones which I have tested. I've done a little investigation of myself - I have narrowed it down to the memory stick interface with the phone. The phone doesn't reboot if the Mem-Stick is removed. I still don't know if the cause of the reboot is a power spike on Vcc (pin9) or if SCLK (pin8) is getting screwed by stray noise reradiated from metallic surfaces.

After upgrading to R3M008 there are bugfixes but my S700i does still reboot if placed on a large metallic surface. Not tried a laptop yet. I did notice that it will not reboot and run fine if I have the phone on slient/vibrate mode though!!!

Silent mode doesn't make any difference. It still reboots on all sorts of metallic objects - NOT GOOD!

Has anybody out there had this S700i/K750 problem successfully fixed? or are SE still scratching their heads on this one?
