According to the lass at retentions:

"The supply chain says the reason the P990i has been delayed is because of factory capcity issues"

Just phoned O2 again to ask for my money back for the phone, as they decided to take £120 out of my account without asking me. o2 eh?

So yeah, while i was there having a bit of a moan, i was told that they hadnt approved the phone yet...and then they were waiting for SE to dispatch them....both from one person, so who knows!

She said it would definately be out by the 27th, but whos to believe that? They said it would definately be out by the 2nd of october to me.

Just to clear up the Orange branding thing.....

Yes its got Orange startup logo, yes it's got a modified home screen with icons down the side (its actually very very useful and customisable shortcuts menu! and works very well with single hand scrolling in FO mode), and yes its got the usual orange badge on the flip and replacement cover when flip is removed. Yes the hardware buttons can't be changed to different functions (i'm sure that'll change in future firmwares)

Not sure what people are so upset about, the menu is very useful and informative, £20 and a call to orange will unlock the phone so you can flash it with unbranded firmware if you so desire. Plus, when apps come out that'll allow you have a custom homescreen (ie tracker) this will never be an issue.

I'm going to start rattling my cage around the 14th 15th, then if I don't get it on the 18th I'll be switching operators... "Enough is enough, and that's too much"

@ cheekynige

Paying Orange £20 will unlock the phone, this means you will be able to put another Networks sim card in the phone and use them. That is all unlocking will achieve and nothing else it will not allow you to change to Generic firmware not now not ever and SEUS will only load your branded phone with that Networks branded software. Also it is very unlikely that something like Tracker will come along and allow you do what you say as the improved security in UIQ3 now restricts access to some of the files and folders on the drives so this is no longer going to be possible IMO although i wait to be proved wrong but i some how doubt it.
