Ive just ordered a R310! brand new, ex stock.
Looking forward to getting a phone i can take walking, mountainbiking etc.

any tips or hints on this phone?

Its a great fone, with the amazing sharkfin aerial. The keypad was made by gore-tex technology! Its almost like r320, except irda etc there is a compas, special holster like a bag and even that metal holder what montain climber are using. The batt is powerfull, i am sure u ll love it! Congrat! its going to be used mainly for mountain biking, and taken to the beach on holidays, should be ok with sand then?

@batesie: Dont worry about your new phone! It is a very tough phone, my R310 was washed under the tap with running water, was burried in the sand, i even went into the sea to swim with the phone, and nothing happened to it!
A funny thing: As i remember, the cleaning instructions in its manual were saying that the R310s must be cleaned with running water under a tap and then to be left to dry!!
It was really funny watching everyone be amazed when, after swimming in the sea, I was taking my phone with my at the showers and letting it have a shower with me!
I bet you will enjoy this phone a lot..
