Alright, here's the step by step of how I chose to do it. First, I got myself a soldering iron with a sharp tip and some standard solder from radio shack. This is the first time I've ever soldered, so it's easy. That ran me about 10 bucks. Then I bought some basic sony earbuds.

First I used my scalpel to help pry off the ends of the SE earbuds. I'm talkin about the dark gray part where the speaker plays through. Once off, I used the soldering iron to loosen the solder and detatch the speaker wires from the speaker. The wire is tied in a little knot behind the speaker, so I untied that and pulled the rest of the earbud assembly off of the wire. Now you're left with nothing on the ends. Now do the same with the sony earbuds. Thread the speaker wires through the new assembly and solder the speakers back to the wire. Snap the cover back on... and you're done. If you wanna keep the SE earbuds, I think the sony speakers will swap right out with the factory ones. I never did like the fit of the SE ones so I changed to the Sony earbuds.

Oh I found this too. Doesn't have that clunky retractable part.

yeah but what is that switch for MP3 mode or Handsfree mode all about on that new link. I remember seeing that when I bought my adapter and decided that switch could be problematic. Best to go with the one we know works.

Didn't notice the button you mentioned. Looks like the retractable one doesn't have the button though. You can just snap the plastic piece in half if you really wanted to... I know, I did that to mine. Works just fine without it, and it doesn't damage it at all.

I'll try to get some more pics up later if I can. I loaned my dad my Canon S70 so I have nothing to take a decent picture with this week.

get yourself a 2.5mm jack to 3.5mm (for the p910i) and buy REAL headphones.

done it with my w800i i'm using my bose triport. quality beats any in ear headphones (anyday).

Yeah, but REAL headphones aren't very portable, now are they? I have an adapter and regular headphones, but who wants to wear all that while walking the dog, or out on the beach, etc.?
I just bought a pair of Koss "The Plug" in ear headphones. This is the new version of them and are supposed to be a big improvement over the old ones. If not, they were only 15 bucks. Anyway, I found an article on how to improve them even more and fit a whole lot better.

I found a better looking pair here.

So after these come in, if they sound good and fit me, i'm gonna solder them to my SE headset and have a pair of in ear headphones. I hope it all goes well. I'll post my results when I have everything done...probably in a week.
Should look like this...

@ darksyde

I know what u mean. But my (current) ambiton is to get the bottom part of the HPM 70 headset working with the p910. That way i will have handsfree functionality intact, and if the HPM 70 (defualt) earpieces r sub-standard, i will get myself a Shure 5c or some more expensive 3.5mm headset. That SE HPM 70 adaptor-cum-mic is the magic thing for me now.
____________

ANd I have figured out a way to do it.

I will dismantle my P910's mic housing, de-solder the wire (that leads to the 2.5mm connector).

Then i will dismantle the HPM 70 mic housing, de-solder the wires leading to the pop-port. After that i will figure the lay-out properly and then solder the P910-headset's wires in the PCB of the HPM 70. I think its the best soln to my (self-made) problem.

As u understand by now, i want the bottom part (the adapter/convertor/mic-housing portion) of the HBM 70 to have the 2.5mm male plug instead of the default "pop-port". And i want the best and most stable way to acheive it.

AND DOnt u think it looks lovely :

P.s. I am STILL awaiting the delvery of the W800 (and the HPM 70) with it.

Sounds to me like that will work fine. I wish you the best. It'd be a shame to screw up a perfectly new headset so I hope it goes well for you. The problem I have with that arrangement is that I know from experience that the sony in ear headsets don't fit me well. You didn't buy the w800i just to get the headset did you? If so, i'll take the phone off your hands for you: D

@ getagrip

I actually did man!!! I will probably gift it to some1 after getting it, maybe to my brother-in-law. His CPA exams r going on and his bday is morrow, i think it'd make a nice (albeit late and head-set less, lolz) b'day present. What d'ya say??

And thx for wishing me luck, i just hope the lay-out on both the pcbs is same, otherwise i'm in big trouble. In that case, if u dont mind, i will ask for ur help if i get in hot waters.

P.s. u actually DO understand what i am attempting to do, i am asking cos my english isnt that good

Thx again, and have a very very good day/night.
