how about:

1) do update
2) at around 4-5% take out the cable, the phone should be dead
3) then do recovery mode.

if worst comes to worst, davinci could always fix it, no?

i think i'll try this when i get home from school tonight. SE made me so mad....

those with problems, do you have in your update folder a file called Sony Ericsson Update Service v1.19.tmp ?

and if so, what is inside it, is it only 1K in size? please open it with notepad and paste the contents here.

I have that file and its only 1K in size:
Code:
Sony Ericsson Update Service v1.19
Do not edit or remove this file! It is used in version handling and if
faulty you must reinstall the application.

turns out that file was not the problem, people who didn't have it upgraded successfully. does SE test anything before it releases it?

just talked with a lady at SE support when i called them and she told me she saw a note that the update should only be run with java runtime 1.4 NOT 1.5. which makes sense since 1.5 is the new java 5 and 1.4 is still java2.

that may be why the log said an exception was being thrown by the upgrade service, perhaps the 1.5 runtime did not like that method call and threw an exception whereas 1.4 would have been fine with it.

so i'll try uninstalling 1.5 and putting in 1.4 and try updating then. wish me luck guys!

Java RT 1.4 didn't do the trick, Java 1.5 did upgrade my new phone last week.

Same problem with me.

K750 from France.

Java 1.4 don't solve the problem.
Recovery mode give the same error.
Other update locations gives the same error.
On se-foren.de some people from deutchland have this problem too.

I think SE fuc*** somethink.
