Airtel sucks here, pre-paid call rates are highest, they send 2-3 SMS per day (at least) full of marketing crap and the special offers are full of hidden costs and other problems.
For example the free night MMS scheme has to be 'activated' by sending an SMS to Airtel otherwise you will be charged for the MMS. After that you can send only MMS to local numbers out of which only Airtel subscribers will get the MMS rest will get a link where they can see the MMS on the internet.
NONE of this is mentioned in the SMS they keep sending to subscribers.
The best part is even after going through all this and fulfilling all their conditions they charged me for 3 MMS (3 more earlier when I had not activated this special MMS), which the customer service executive refused to acknowledge (claimed that I must have used some service for which I had been charged, furthermore refused to tell me what service they offered saying they did not have usage records).
Can't wait to chuck this service...

Well, for lifetime thing. I would say, its the companies lifetime they are talking about.
Take it this way....for monthly recharges, they have to run to the customer every month(NOT REALLY THaT WAY), while in lifetime, just screw the nuts once and the customer will feed u for "YOUR LIFETIME".

yup tis lifetime thing sucks, i think they have intentionally poored their service for the lifetime customers coz now they know that they have no chance for an exit!!
