looks wise i agree completely that the fiesta isn't really a winner. I had no choice in the car and i was originally a bit dissapointed when i saw it ( i know i am an ungratefull ****** - but hey that's the truth!)

however it wasnt long before i was chuffed to bits with it. The only advise i can give is test drive both cars and remember it is far more important how a car feels inside and how it drives than how it looks - as once you are driving it you cant see the looks but you sure as hell notice how it drives.

I am pretty sure which one you will choose once you have had a test drive

again don't forget build quality - especially with older cars. The older model punto's dont hold together well by all accounts - judging by friends cars.

At the end of the day though it is all personel preference and what i like you may hate and vice versa so just read up about all the various problems to look out for on both models and go give a few a test drive

if you end up looking into a fiesta let me know and i will warn you on some of the things to look out for!

As in they often have numerous problems. Off the top of my head my mates punto had:
Shit loads of rust - everywhere
His electric windows went down (i mean it fell down into door) never to go back up
The wiring for the headlights melted completely ruining his lights
His handbrake cable snaped not just once but a few times! and also had a nasty habbit of getting stuck
head gasket went a few times too
rear wiper worked when it wanted to - which was almost never!

Could be a one off but i have heard quite a lot of bad stuff about older model punto's

lol i am sure they are good cars (my mate didn't exactly look after his. snapped handbrake cables probs down to the fact he rather enjoyed handbrake turns )

At the end of the day it is personal prefference!
