About lens cover .. many of W800i and K750i got huge problems with it .. and at servicepoints they got sooooo many phones back cause of bad lens covers which opens by itself and activate the cam option !! the W810i got a lens protection, so just clean the lens and take pics .. if you feel that is being unclear lens .. just go to SONY ERICSSOn service point to put change it for free .. u have 2 years garanti of all Sony Ericsson Products now

No it's not . w810 is a revision of w800 . And of course all of use are usually saying that the fones that we own are the best, so many people who got w800 don't like w810 , one thing cause it's an update but they don't admit it , second you have what you want and what you don't want in w810 ( good fone , also k700 , k750 , w800 are good fones , but i'm just glad i didn't buyed that ones ; i bought recently a w810 )
Besides a user who have w800 must like white , soo , the w810 is opposite , black
( just love the design of w810 ) and that means that they just don't like black ones > not a good reason to not get a w810 , but many people want pure perfection from feature of this fones so they comment on every aspect of the fone.
As a conclusion:
w800: Indeed a good fone , but in these days not worth buying it.
w810: A new model that brings some new futures : Edge , D-Pad (not a future , actually an UPGRADE) , 1.9" Display , LIGHT SENSOR , Memory Stick Pro Duo , less memory like 23 MB ( than 34 of w800) But it could have a 4 GB MS ( than w800 2 GB ),Also it has some aditions to Java technology like Wireless Messaging API (JSR 120/205)
and
Java API for Bluetooth™ (JSR 82)
,It supports now HTML ,it has Bluetooth 2 , it supports more advanced AAC format (m4a like) ,I has a few extra futures like RDS FM radio , HPM - 70 Headphones , MegaBass , Video Dj, Photo Dj , maybe Walkman player is updated , it supports macromedia images . Soo ... if this is not enogh update to you , I am sorry , You're just not right !

Edited: Just discovered a littel detail : When the battery level is too low , up on the infrared port it blinks a red led . It's just interesting

Does UK support edge???
what is the light sensor used for....for controling lights on the phone or imaging purposes??

The light sensor is used to automatically adjust the display brightness and the keypad backlight according to the actual surrounding light condition.
In light environments the display gets brighter and the keypad backlight gets dimmed.
In dark environments the display gets dimmed and the keypad backlight gets brighter.

w800i is better!!!!
1)No hissing in walkman mp3 player, fixed due to far manager!!!!!!!!!!!!!! w810i is horrible music quality, just enjoy listening to the hisssSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS in the w810i. Love it don't ya.
2)w800i has a cover for the camera
3)has a clock
4)buy a joystick cap and no more problems with joystick. Pwns a d-pad.
5)Better battery life.
6)i Like the orange and white.
THE W810I IS NOT A WORTHY MP3 PLAYER.

i think the most important difference now, is the use of Far Manager...
With it, you may do amazing things in a W800. Menu icons, media player skins, camera driver, the option to change almost everything in a W800 turn it so much better than W810.
