Enjoying a good conspiracy as I do, it seems the more the Church objects to this book/film, the more inclined I am to believe it has something to hide.
They could have just laughed it off, but the fact there are world-wide protests suggests They're worried.
Point to be worth noted.....

Personally I could not care less about any of this religious hocus-pocus. As far as the "what if..." this book/movie implies - I'm still not bothered and could not care less.
My yard stick by which I measure if issues are important to me or not is weather it will help me pay my bills at the end of the month or not.

In India too they are trying to ban the movie..... These guys are much worried about its outcome......
Also the fact that if there is some truth in the book then the church will be shaken from its bottom is very visible.......

I am a Christian and here is what I think, This book/movie is a well thought out and put together STORY, like some stories they are based on real life events. everyone has a right to decide his own belief, based on what he thinks is right. Some think about bills to be payed at the end of the month, fun to be had, soul to be saved and such. The Bible is also a book and some consider it to be more real than anything in this world.
I dont think it should be banned more than any other films made by Rob Zombie. There are other movies out there where people and gay, worshiping the devil and stuff like that.
Let the stories be told...in the end its what you believe that matters.
thats 2 out of my 8 cents

Stories can be written but stories with facts is a different case......
You have to observe you have to understand .... Before you comment......

Meaning you are so infallible that we should all believe the book simply because you believe in it?
That's simply amazing. I bet you would be double-thrilled if I said, "I purely believe in what the Bible (or the Koran) says and dont see ANY REASON why others shouldnt." You'd probably be thrilled to death

People have minds to think with. Sorry, there will always be people who will think different from you (or myself for that matter). Maybe you can help them see your stand by telling them WHY you believe what you do.

Again, there's the assumption that the Catholic Church is the Church. Nope, my catholic brothers are only a section. If you care to look, there are many Christians out there who are not clamouring for a ban or a holy war, and who do not necessarilly agree with the Pope's position on every matter, with all due respect.
Sincerely, its the Da Vinci Code against the Bible. "His" word against "ours". The Christian's defence is primarilly the Bible and the history behind it. Its up to each of us to simply choose which we will believe.
Incidentally, I suspect that most people who have read or watched the Da Vinci Code have never read the Bible.
