cant you understand? hold on, take a deeep breath yea... and read the statement below...

IT IS NOT JUST THE BOX THAT IS IN POOR CONDITION, THE MAC ITS-SELF ALONG WITH OTHER PARTS WERE IN BAD CONDITION

for example, the leaflet, i rmeember was tatty and had a dark stain on the cover, possibly coffee or something...

i wouldnt moan just over a box and i wouldnt made such a loss on it if it had such superficial problems

I've offered a discount Brownlad, you said there was an issue with marks, even though I mentioned that it had marks.

You said that there weren't enough cd's because it only had iLife and the grey one. And I told you that those are the only two cds that come with it.

What more?

Please brownlad, I just want the money that is owed to me.
(I could have just taken that 80 pounds which you spent trying to sell it)

Ok Bav has obviously had a bad day and I am sure everyone here wishes his dad all the very best and perhaps this can all be settled in a friendly manner once emotions have calmed down. I am sure no one wants to see bav leave esato.

From what I can gather so far it seems the box has been damaged by royal mail (I know amnesia and if he says it was in good condition when he posted it – then it was, end of story). Therefore amnesia’s offer of £10 off (now even more) seems fair – a box is a box after all and if it has stopped the contents getting damage during rough handling then it has served its purpose.

“bearing in mind the bargain of £300 was not a bargain at all. Infact i saw the exact thing go for £280 on ebay inc p+p”

Well not wanting to sound harsh but no one forced you to buy it and it’s no good moaning about it afterwards – you made your own deal and your own decision. And just for the record £300 is definitely a bargain. All that means is someone on ebay was fortunate enough to get an even better bargain.

Now in terms of you selling it on – it is now your responsibility to inform the buyer that the box is damaged. IF you say it is 100% perfect, as-new, etc etc then it is your fault if it gets returned not amnesia’s. Amnesia informed you of the scratches and gave you a discount for the damaged box you should have done the same for your purchaser.

I think the best way to sort this is to agree between you the value of the final payment owed to amnesia, and for amnesia to give you a weeks ‘good grace’ to make the payment as a gesture of good will and further compensation for the box being damaged. I think this is a fair way to solve this. Also bav you will have no problem selling this on ebay and getting back the amount you paid even if you mention the box is damaged, leaflet stained etc – so it will be all good in the end. Also seems you have been very generous with the refunds you have given to your two purchasers. Provided you hade not described it as ‘as new’ then I would have said the damage mentioned is not worthy of sending it back to you. You could simply have offered a £10 discount or similar as amnesia has done for you.
