I can't believe LG are where they are...their best phone is the "chocolate" phone, and quite frankly that really sucks...yeah, it looks (not to me) lovely to most, but i'd be damned if i'd buy the thing given how low spec it is..i guess people are willing to buy anything based on looks..more fool them...

I agree.
Moto has done really well with the V3 range fashion phone but what will happen when its next fashion phones don't go down as well? Whats left, the PEBL?
Likewise, Samsung have about 15 sliders in their range at the moment, I can't honestly believe it expects the same sucess for the lates of these as it had with the D500.

yep..especially given that they are all starting to look the same...i understand that it's a successful formula to keep remaking the same shape phones with slightly upgraded spec's, but christ...lets see something new...my step bro has just got the "latest" e800..what a pile of shit...it's ugly..1.3 megapixel is hardly pushing technology is it...the best thing about it is you can change the text colour's...thats tremendous..way to go samsung...

Agree on comments on Samsung, apart from the knockout P300. I think it's great. Solid Metal. Has a real quality about it. If I have to send back another K800i back, think i will 'downgrade'!!!! (-:

the d600 is, i think, the best of the lot...though, ive never been tempted by any samsung at all...the majority, to me, are extremely ugly...

from what is seen now
Nokia is strong on low end market segment for emerging market
But they are strong in the series 60 symbian smartphone segment.
Motorola is of course strong like Nokia in low end segment.
Plus their mid range to high end non smartphone segment is getting a strong boost with their slim phone family...they have all kind of nice looking slim phone for GSM, CDMA and WCDMA market.
Samsung...oh well I read some article in magazine which their high level management have said Samsung strong hold is always on high end model...of course you know they are strong in CDMA. But they admit they are weak in the mid to low end segment...there's well it kill their market share gain.
LG....they are not tht strong in GSM segment if you look carefully...they manage to offer mid range to low range product but non of them seem to be a hit. They are strong in CDMA but if you look at their q2 performance..they are losing some of the market...in USA...if i am not wrong...their presentation is saying the market in North american drop from 40+% to 28%.
SE...oh well they are something like motorola which is strong in mid range and high range product...i don't think they are that strong in the low end segment but with the strong brand name...it might still able to get some foot hold on low end segment...moreover their approach of letting popular product to last a long time until it become a low end range product work nice too....after 2yrs....at least at my home country...this approach is still allow K700 to be a hit product.
I guess with now W300 the low end walkman phone is out....we might see a more interesting Q3 for SE as to gain market share...it need a strong low end or mid range phone....to gain profit...i believe they will need W950 and K800 to do the job.

Actually I find the W300 to be quite expensive in comparison to other models in its price bracket. The Nokia 6131 is at the same price, and it has a far better screen, camera etc. I don't thinkt that SE have a true low end.
