the most annoying part of the 'connect-disconnect' issue is when the phone 'hangs' because there are just too many 'optimized charging' dialog boxes that were displayed for every 'disconnect-connect' event. i'm not sure if this is experienced by everyone, but i'm really pissed off when this happens...

Yea dude i m currently facing same problem in my S700i . My Origianl SE charger just working fine with my SE BLUETOOTH . But not working with my Phone .
Any idea what could be the Problem ?

The most likely cause it that the contacts on the phone are dirty. Clean them with a pencil eraser and try charging again.

Ive had a quick read through the post.

there are no plans to change to Fast port on the bottom of the phone.

There are also no known faults with Fast port.

The most common problems are

1. Pins bent on the charge

2. Pins broke on the charger

3. Dirt on the fast port (This is the most common one)

Fast port before people ask is the connection at the bottom of the phone.

You connect everything to this.

SE are working on placing a 3.5mm phono port on phones. But this is still in the pipeline.

However there is currenlty no amendment or changes to the current port.

This is a well known problem for me. I've had this problem with every SE I've had. T68, T616, K750i, W800. I agree that the problem lies in the data/charging port getting dirty, as I work in dusty enviroments. Although it can be cleaned, it should be protected better, maybe the charging and data port separated. It has already been annoying when they changed to fast port, cause it meant that all your previous accessories had to be abbandoned.

My K800 data cable has this problem so I really only use my AC adapter now because it does work first time (i.e. without jiggling).

The charger/data interface on my Dell Axim is a good design to follow. PDA interfaces seem to work much better than SE's interface. Maybe they'll opt for that style one day!

I have this problem in my T230, ever since the first month of purchase. I even had the same problem with my previous Ericsson phone, the GH688!

I never had any such issues with any Nokias i used, nor have i known of any other Nokia users who had.

And i assure you, dirt on contacts is not the reason, poor design of charger plug is.

This is the only thing that makes me feel down using SE. I am planning on buying a K750i, and i just hate to think it also has the same problem - A real SE for sure!

Same prtoblems for me. The car charger connected to the bottom of the car holder HC66 loses contact now and then, so that I don't hear anythin in the earplug.
My HBH-70 headphones does so too sometimes. I have to jiggle the contact a bit before the sound returns in the earplugs.
I had an even worse but similar problem with the table stand I used for my K700. One of the springs in the contacts of the table stand, I think it was the - or + connector, got stuck, so that when I put the phone in the stand, the contact on the phone was pressed so far inside the phonethat there was no possibility to charge the phone anymore with any connector. I fixed the problem by bending the contact plate back again using a thin needle.

@ altemyr

I also fiddled with my charger's pins to get around this problem, and i have to "re-calibrate" them every now and then.

It's so lame they never did anything to improve the design ever since GH688 - that was nearly ten years ago man!

i agree, this fast poert thing is too flimsy, i really likr the old charger and the way you can snap it off from the phone, i got used to it, in the new one, its not that comfartable doing so.

i tried a couple of diff plug points, in the end, just blew on both the contact points, even though, i didnt see any dirt, and after a couple of tries it finally charged.

its really getting annoying.
