I have another wlan problem:
In the university I have to use EAP-TTLS with PAP inner authentication. But only EAP-MD5 and EAP-MS-CHAPv2 are offered.
Any solutions on this?

example of wlan setup:

In the phone
1. account name-whatever you like
2. network name (SSID) - name you defined in your router setup (you get that name after scaning).
3. authentication - open
4. network mode - infrastructure (ad hoc is to pair two clients avoiding router e.g. P990 and a PC with wifi adapter which you don't need)
5. data encryption - WEP
6. default WEP key - 1
7. define WEP key - #1
8. WEP key type - HEX
9. enter 10 digits WEP key in appropriate field (10 digits that you entered in the router after chosen WEP 64bit HEX)
10. Find phone's MAC address

In the router setup
1. network name (SSID) - that name you will enter in position 2. above (in the phone)
2. authentication - open (same as on the phone)
3. data encryption - WEP 64bit, enter 10 HEX digit key in field #1
4. MAC filtering - enable. You will enter phone's MAC filter.

I'll go from the very begining. Sory if I explain things you already know. Last thing I want to do is to insult your inteligence.

I access my router's configuration page (where I do all needed settings) through internet explorer. In order to do that your PC should be properly connected with a router. For that you should use a cable that comes with a router. My router dlink DI-524 came with setup wizard on CD so after inserting this CD I just followed wisard's instruction and easily managed connection between router and PC.
After that just open internet explorer and in the address field you should write your router's address for direct access (in my case it is http://192.168.0.1 - see CD). The router's configuration page will apear and there you can do all settings described in 1-3, maybe just need a bit of search to find what you need.

In the phone just click connections-Wireless LAN. WLAN application will open. Choose - New account. You will see all required fields for all mentioned steps in my previous postings. First you will see a few fields. After filling them press right arrow and you can choose data encryption. After choosing WEP press right arrow and you will get fields for WEP key etc. Save your new account and good luck.

Thank you very much Koto

I really did all the things you said except (data encryption - WEP 64bit, enter 10 HEX digit key in field #1) in the router, is it important ? because I didn’t find it, its different than the one u post above

Appreciated

Thanx in advance

I've been having problems with wi-fi connections but finally managed to get it up and running.

Don't ask me how though, one minute it wasn't working, now it is! Sending this message using my P990!

@hanash19
No it is not necessary at all in order to setup your home wlan provided you neglected that part during your router configuration. In that case just choose 'none' for wep encryption in your phone and save your wlan account.. Data going through yor wlan will be unprotected but 64bit wep encryption is not much higher security.
