Hi all.
The reason that when you try and type a web address the first W is a capital is due to the fact that you have auto capitalisation set to on. Set it to off and this will no longer happen hope that helps.

yeah but i like the auto caps when writing SMS, i suppose my issue is that there is no need for caps at all when typing web addresses so why cant caps be disabled? this isn't really a magor issue for me tho...
another little mod i would like to see would be to make getting rid of the missed call icon on the status bar easier.
For examle at the moment when i get a missed cal i get a message saying that i've had a missed call and the time date and caller. Then there are 3 options "done", "call" and "view". My issue is that the small red missed call icon on the status bar only dissapears if i press view - which is annoying because i already know everything i need to. why cant the red icon go away if i press done?

I would like to have the speaker phone, transfer sound, mute, conference & other in-call options as big icons on the screen during a call, as opposed to buried under the "more" menu.
Then again, that would make the phone far too usable in my opinion. Us real SE junkies love the secret commands (e.g. press backspace to mute the phone during a call, but press # to mute the phone) - it makes us feel special.
They should compile their next version to do every function with super obscure commands like Alt-Shift-Backspace or something. Think of the hours of fun we'll have discovering/learning these tips & tricks.

Just one point....
The flight mode (problem you mentioned) is already taken care of; itcan be enable or disabled so that it does not prompt if you don't want too.
Control Panel.... Device.... Flight mode etc.
(latest Firmware ?)
My thoughts on the call from Contacts and Jog Dial(How it works now.).... the jog dial is used to select the name.... and then press the "call" key on the screen seems fine. That why we have a touch screen etc.
What would happen if there are serval numbers for a contact and the first one was not the one you wanted. This would be a pain if you only used the Dial ?
The main menu Icon can be changed to whatever you want it to be... make your own Icon and replace easy.

Ok, I guess the new firmware fixed this, thanks.
As for the jog dial, yes, if there are several numbers, it could be a pain. That's why you can just access the profile by clicking on VIEW. But like other people said, multiple numbers issue is much easier to remedy. The most important function of a phone is making calls. Not accessing profiles.
Yeah, the missed calls dialog is also very clunky.

One more thing... "Edit before dial" from phonebook. Need to put in a international dial prefix.
Right now I either have to copy & paste, or dial once, disconnect and do a "Edit before dial" on the call list.

Hi all,
Anyone else experiencing Bluetooth being some what erratic syncing over bluetooth seems to work best on booting up the Laptop but even then it is hit or miss. It either works faultlessly even auto syncing or not all, similar issues with the Music Player and the HBH-DS970 sometimes it just works other times it need to be transferred from the music player and sometimes will just not work. Takes 3-4 attempts to connect other than that i have had no crashes freezes or restarts, Opera Mini certainly loads fast just not that happy with navigation or display.
Also why so few shortcuts on the home page that large screen and all we get is 4 icons plus main menu what a waste IMO. Also i find the signal strength fluctuates wildly doesnt seem to hold on to 3G and goes between being in the red and full signal strength and everything in between, Whilst the T-Mobile Sim in my N93 always shows full strength and 3G, admittedly the Voda Sim is no where near as good but still much better than in the M600. Besides the above love the size of the phone it is so slim great screen is great just not out doors or in bright lighting though.

Having read this thread with interest, I thought I would add my list of gripes. With the latest firmware (Phone R9A002, Organiser R4C01) it is now very stable, but I still find the following irritating:
- I cannot switch to speakerphone during a call unless bluetooth is switched off. Nothing happens when I try to do it when bluetooth is switched on, even when nothing is paired with the phone.
- There is no "find" option in Contacts. This was a useful feature on the P900 which seems not to have been included.
- The PDF viewer will not switch to landscape mode. If I try to do it, the application shuts down. A work around is to use the rotate option and rotate by 90 degrees, but as landscape is a one button option already there , it is a pity it doesn't seem to work.
- Using HBH DS970 bluetooth headphones is brilliant and works really well. The only problem is that after answering a call whilst listening to music, when the sound reverts to music after finishing the call, it is mono not stereo. The only way to get it back to stereo is to transfer the sound to speaker and then back again to the HBH DS970, which is a pain.
- Often after updating RSS feeds, the first entry shows only the heading and no text. The only way to see the text of the first entry is to press next to go to the second entry and then previous to get the first entry again, when the text then appears.
I hope these are not unique to my M600!

The Find option in Contacts is the only feature I'm really missing from my previous P phones.
I am desperate because I have over 600 contacts, some of them I cant remember the names but only the company, and M600 does not let you search by any field in the contact like all previous Pxxx did.
So I have to go to Outlook, search in Outlook for the name of the contact, and then go back to M600 to make the call.
This is a serious "miss" on M600, and makes me think of coming back to P910.

hi all
i just read all the post in this topic and is nothing to apreciate on this phone. i think.
all in all, it is worth buying this phone?
i just got rid of k800 and i need something like m600, but if there are so many software bugs...maybe it will get fixed in time with updates.

most of this thread is quite old and most issues are now already fixed
the M600 is a great device and you should not be concerned by old problems listed here
