well that's odd, my w800 player does the same thing as the K800, but only when java is running in the background.

If java isn't running it works normally.

That's why I wanted to know if peeps have JAVA apps running in the background when they try the playnow screen on K800.

It's a long shot I know, but I just wondered with Java multi-tasking, peeps might have some background apps running....

java has nothing to do with it...

the music app on the k800 just won't let you go up or down in playnow with the current firmware i have..

I didn't say it did mate, I said that in the W800 that's how it works. Trust me I just did it and that's how it works on W800. On the strength of that, I wondered it was worth asking someonoe who has a K800 to make sure they don't have a java app running when they tried, JUST IN CASE the K800 playnow screen works the same way as the W800 playnow screen.

I don't have a K800 so I can't try myself.

But if the W800 walkman screen can't scroll up and down while a java app is running (but can when java isn't running), then I don't think it's such a reach to wonder if the K800 might be the same.

Can someone PLEASE freakin' humour me and simply verify that they tried the scrolling up and down, and that it doesn't work even without any java apps running?

Thank you.

because you see, while you took pains to point out my ignorance, you didn't actually answer my question.

There is a very easy workaround for the problem with not being able to scroll through the play list in "Now Playing". Just press the back key (the one below the left softkey) to return to the main menu of the music player, and you can select playlists or artists or whatever and scroll around as much as you like without changing the track currently playing. You can even scroll around while the radio is on.

No worries dude, thanks for the answer. I wondered if that's what you meant, but you didn't give an answer so I wasn't sure if you were being sarcastic or something Thanks!

this works, but it's not a very good workaround because you have to click all the way back to the playlist that you are in, whereas with up/down scrolly thing you can instanly scroll through the current playlist.

Now that I understand how it works on K800 I can confirm, that when a java app is running in the background on my W800, that the inability to scroll up and down is very frustrating. Fortunantely I rarely have java running in the background so it doesn't affect me very often.

of course it is. just buy a pair of good headphones (ex. hpm-70, sennhiezer, etc....) and put the equlizer at "valley shape", then you almost get the same sound like
