- customers need to do this in fault when there is water damage in their phones, costing companies to loose money for service technicians to check for such lies.
- customers need to do this if they feel cosmetic issues occur on their devices (Apple users complained of the first shipment of Black MacBooks - and Apple listened & corrected the issue; but their a niche, not so with SE). Its up to SE to determine on a case by case situation IF they want to replace numerical keypads IF the numbers are wearing off.
Take a GOOD look at my last example. User usuage determines the lead for wear & tear. Does the user use the phone in an especially oily environment or gritty environment (say desert) that would have the keypad whiped?

BTW, I thought FAR Manager could NOT access CID49 users?? Hmm, unless I'm mistaken. However, for a person that posts on the developer threads "may" be an official employee of SE BUT I still see no OFFICIAL address of this situation to the public - to be official they need to acknowledge it.

@Prom1: Read on one of the other sites' forums yesterday, dont remember which, prob se-nse, that the "griffin team" had found some sort of a crack for cid49 k750. Now i dunno who or wot is griffin, but someone on that forum had also claimed to have patched some files onto a similar device, and everyone was quite xcited! So lets hope we get an far plugin for cid49, music prob or not

It’s all very simple to me:
My music sounded fine using the first firmware.
Second firmware gave me LOTS of hiss, unacceptable.
Replacing drivers with the old ones using FAR removed the hiss again.
Now, I could record a sample with both drivers, and not even proud SE people would be able to claim the difference is acceptable. But I feel there’s no sense in doing that, since you’ll probably argue that both recordings should have been done simultaneously with the same kind of weather, the same number of people in the building and Cartoon Network should be transmitting the same episode of Powerpuff Girls while recording.
No, it’s really not that complicated is it? Music should sound the way you’re used to hear it. You don’t have to be some kind of expert to hear something sounds wrong.
Customers should NOT have to provide technical details about the problem. Customers should merely report something is wrong, and what they aren’t satisfied with, only reporting phone model, firmware version, and such simple things. The company should then consider the amount of error-reports on the same subject, and then investigate if a lot of people have complained. SE did this and the result (as I’ve seen on forum-threads here at Esato) was that they admitted/confirmed this problem, so there’s really nothing to discuss or debate here.
FAR Manager simply rules. Using this tool I can make my W800 just the way I want it. E.g. video-recording quality was also reduced in the second firmware, which was also a disappointment to me. I had seen preview recordings online, and was real excited such good quality was possible. But then they reduced the quality, I’m guessing because some other people would rather be able to send a longer clip by MMS. Now I’ve changed that setting giving me the high quality video-recording again. Actually, FAR Manager kinda makes it possible for all to be satisfied with their phone.

EXACTLY! We all tend to fall in luv with SE, n the quality products delivered to us make us want to believe in the company. Hence the disappointment over issues like hissing, which can be apparently solved, eg FAR.

Don't worry as there IS light at the end of the tunnel. Because they have demoted Ken Kutaragi due to the totally dreadfull screw up with the PS3 launch. So none of Sony's employee's are untouchable. Lets hope this includes the idiot who came up with this firmware hiss decision eh?
