Got a black W850i last Saturday (6 days), and after reading this...found the crack!

It's not noticeable if you don't look realy close at down on the pad.

Cracking directional pads dont sound good at all! What with that, squeeky battery covers and loose slides the W850i's build quality really has a lot to be desired for.

I'm sorry to see that the crack issue is spreading even in your direction. Well it is not big, but it's disappointing to realise that SE didn't foresee such a simple thing in a flagship model. After all, the directional pad is meant to be used and battery cover shouldn't be loose. Other than that, this is an amazing, beautifully designed multi tasking phone

The slider is still holding firm, touch wood.

Cheers

lol they did same with me , lol the person at cpw did it straight away , it took me about 30mins to firgure out how to open it without smashing it to peices or squeezing it so tight the screen cracked lol

my battery cover is ok now , although the battery itself has an "intel inside" sticker which i pulled off the pc and put on my phone lol.

the sliding mehcanism is awesome for me , i doughted it but its still sliding the same as it did when it was new !
