I keep going back to my M600i because of the keyboard, it's the best one I've used on a phone. It takes a little getting used to, working out the rocking motion mainly, but after that it's very very fast, I can quite comfortably write quite long messages and emails on it without a problem.

I got on well with the M600i keypad, more so than the W950i when I swapped to it.

Definitely a keypad for use by someone who send lots of emails and text messages.

or someone like me who surfs alot from my phone

Yes - someone who surfs the internet alot too!

I wonder how the similar looking P700i keypad will perform?

Just to echo what everyone else has said; the keyboard is absolute genius. The first two days I struggled with it, but then its extremely fast.

I was surprised that it worked so well for me because I have rather fat fingers, but man it is quick! One of the best things out there, and it beats other 'full' qwerty devices I have used (like the PDA2K and JASJAM).

The BB Pearl uses a similar concept in its keyboard (dual function keys) but the shape and rocking feedback of the M600 can't compare.

I have tried the P990 keyboard, and I found myself having to pick and hunt with the keys (damn they are small). With the M600 its almost touch-typing for me at this point.

If I could say one thing negative about it, it would be that its difficult to write messages one-handed, as you could with predictive text (aka T9) on normal phones. I only bring this up because sometimes I have to send a quick note while driving (not a good idea, I know) and it a bit difficult. I sometimes pull over to tap out the message correctly.

i am still a bit slow with typing accurately with it tho, i have huge hands, but dint find it too hard to use one handed....

typing one handed, as mentioned is a problem tho.... cant it be switched to use the numerical keays for typing so that it functions as a normal phone? Like disable the qwerty keybord

I don't know if you can disable the QWERTY option to go back to normal numeric key use...

But personally, I wouldn't want to.

I had to get used to it for about two days, and now I can type faster than I've ever been able to with this keyboard. It's brilliant.

so each key you can either rock left or right? so when in standby mode if you want to enter a number DO YOU rock either side of its key, or you press the whole key?

In standby, you can just hit the number keys square on (as you would on any other phone) and they respond and feedback like any ordinary number key.. it works like that in the Calculator app too, which is quite neat - see, it doesn't just look like one, it acts like it too!
