Again, this does not only apply to files sent via Bluetooth but to files via Infrared too! AND, you cannot save those file just anywhere. They have only NEW Folder or a default one. Unless you go and save it from one to the other to the other... you might just want to use a card reader and put it in any folder you like directly. That is the 'new' SE way probably.
So let me get this straight. You want to IR a file that's bigger than internal memory?

Do you REALISE how SLOW IR is?
How about you read my post again.... and again....! Where do I say I want to send a file bigger then the phone's internal memory via infrared??? But this is getting ridiculous anyways. Makes no sense to reply to such childisch crap anymore!

if you don't want to send a file bigger than internal memory, then it's not such an issue where the bluetooth inbox is saved to. Frankly you are obsessing about a non-issue, and that's my whole point
And what the hell makes you think you speak any better english than I do? Your assertion that "to bluetooth" is not good english shows how little you understand the proper use of english. "Bluetooth" is both a name of a standard (NOT a company name like xerox) and a name of a transfer medium. So "to bluetooth" is just as correct as "to text" (to send by text message), "to post" (to send my mail), "to ferry" (to send by ferry), "to courier" (to send by courier) etc. The fact is Michael, you are being stuck up and pompous with no sound basis. Give it up and just accept that in the absence of any other term for it, "to bluetooth" is an appropriate use of english to convey the idea of sending something via bluetooth.
As to your comments about other nation's use of english not being true english, well why the hell should we copy you? You expect the whole world should speak English english, what, with an oxford accent I suppose? Yeah right.
btw, I scored in the top 1% (out of 10,000 applicants) in english comprehension for the mature age tertiary entrance aptitude testing, I don't have to justify my understanding of the English language to you.

as much as i'd love to join in on this debate this isn't the forum for the correct use of English...
take this into PM's if you really feel the need to battle it out further :/
suits me fine, I don't have any tolerance for such conceited posturing. Good luck to him, I've said enough.
Regarding the thread topic, the fact of the matter is, once the file transfer is complete, you have the option to save the item anywhere you like, so there really is no problem. The only problem is if the file transfer is larger than internal memory, and this will be very rare.

Do you even have a p990i? AGAIN: You canNOT save to anywhere you want after you have beamed a file!!!
You can either Create a New Folder, or,
save it in phone memory to: Unfiled, Business cards, Clipart or Frames, or,
on Memory Stick to: Unfiled.
That's it! You cannot save it to any other folder there is or that you have created and is there, not in phone memory nor on stick.
OR,
if you have certain other files, you can ONLY save them in Messaging!!! And then MOVE TO NOWHERE!!! Or like also said before, create a New Folder! But that is it!
If YOU can do otherwise, let us all know. I would like to know really

In the P990 USER GUIDER, it says: "If another bluetooth device sends a file to your phone, a dialog may appear (operator dependent) with options for accepting or rejecting the file transfer. When the transfer is complete, select the file name and choose where to store the file. If you select save instead you will not get the option to decide where to store the file. You will then have to look under messaging to find it."
So reading the above carefully and trying it on your P990, you are not able to save the file anywhere but in the messaging system? (since the above seems to indicate that you can save it outside of messaging if you select the filename rather than the "save" option)
As far as not being able to save the file outside of the messaging system AT ALL, sorry but I simply don't believe it. As if SE would allow you to bluetooth a file but then not be able to save it in a phone or memory stick folder where you can actually use the file. Even K750 can save an item from a message (mms, email) to a folder in the file system.
You aren't looking hard enough. What file types are we talking about here anyway? Surely you are not saying you can't save atleast your audio video or image files in a location that is accessible by the file manager (and therefore can be copied anywhere you like)?

Any pictures sent to my phone can be initial stored in any folder found in C:\\Media Files\\Picture\\ or D:\\Picture
Videos go in \\Video\\
Music go in \\Music\\
All can be moved afterwards using the built in FileManager
Games sent to my phone can only be Installed
However using X-Plorer, press Menu -> Tools -> Messaging I can see all the files in the messaging folder and move them to where ever I want.
