what does this mean? a new release like R6?!

Nope, the P990i update from 10th April - sorry if you got excited! lol

The following times are with the following conditions:-

START from when the power button is pressed
Select Phone Mode
8 digit PIN typed in
Startup Greeting
FINISH when 'reception' beeps have sounded

Startup times:

P1i - 1min 20.5secs
P990i - 1min 9.7secs

P1i doesn't look so hot when starting, but makes up for it when running I guess.

This is stepping further away from the P8/P9 design. I want a bigger screen and no keypad! Oh, and a pair of speakers, one at the top (as normal) and one at the bottom so when you play a movie you get some effect.
If and when my P910 dies, I'm getting a Prada :/

That would be where you fasten the strap if you like to have your phone in a strap. It's all by metal and you can't remove it...

@Marc_SE: i hope SE fixes this till the phone is launched because that boot time really sux imho! P1i really needs a good selling price to be a success.

why does the start up time matters? how often do you power up the phone? keeping in mind that p1 has 128 ram, i bet that it will be no restarts.or very few.

Yup - the startup time sounds disappointing, but like I said - the handset fairs better when running when compared to the P990i. I think it's restarted only once since I've gotten my hands on it, which is pretty much a fortnight now.

guys, dont forget that 128mb ram is not for programs, its for storage. how much memory is available for programs might be exactly the same as the p990.
