I agree too. I don't think I'm going to upgrade. Such a crying shame - I love the phone design. I can't see another phone design on the market that comes close to what I want. But I'm really baffled by SE's attitude. I'm (regretfully) giving SE a wide berth in future.

suggests that the latest f/w has actually slowed the phone down and introduced some odd alarm problems.... Anybody else found this?

hmmm, thought the main problem everybody seemed to be havin was not bein able to hold space bar to make a call, n i can live with that,
so updated anyway, n i wish i hadnt now lol,
although opera menu's are more organised, and camera seems to work better,
the virtual keyboard icon is permanently at the bottom of the screen for some odd reason,
n seem to have completely lost the ability to use ALT & SHIFT to show the drop-down menu's

i am sooo happy i sold my p990i, a friend of mine uses it still and i am "managing" his phone as he doesn't understand a lot about firmware etc. but this firmware is again a joke. loads of problems. each firmware should be improving the performance, add features and keep the good things. it is slower and even with tweak peaks it's slower than without it on the last firmware. but in this matter SE is really performing like a bl...dy amateur company.

i cannot even imagine what problems a P1i or W960 will show when they're out. again i believe, that UIQ especially with SE is developing in the wrong direction. and nokia with S60 is not sleeping..

I'll pass this one but I think I liked the part where they say Opera does better and the menus are simpler or richer. Other than that, i won't update unless they put out a version in which the memory does so much better but I think it won't happen as the phone doesn't have enough RAM no matter what they say...such a shame!

I have now discovered that R6 stops you using your phone to make calls when using TomTom, and makes my BT connection lesws than reliable. Its just gets worse Iwas just begining to realy like my P990 this FW has made me think again. I am lucky that my N95 is almost fault free apart from wiping speed dials each time I sync it! so It looks like that may well become my main device now especialy as have decided there will not be anymore updates I cannot belive they are doing this to paying customers its not right.

can anyone else confirm this? - it's a big blow for the firmware - the SE bluetooth implementation was always great..

i want my P990 to use satnav and my bluetooth headset together

Found a notes bug - I have a note which has got to a certain length and I can't edit it anymore - everytime I try and add another character to it it gives an error and closes notes.
