In fact we should wait for k850 to see if it got megabass or not... if you remember k750i got it! And by the way its quite probable cause SE on this new phones are giving better music features to camara phones (for exemple the media player of k850 is excellent, better than w2 and not much different from w910), and good imaging features to music phones ( for exemple 3.2mp camara with auto focus on w960). One other thing is that if you remember w950 is a music phone and dont have a manual equalizer and there was only 1 or 2 good predefinition settings on it(one is megabass!), but for some tracks and with some earphones megabass is not that good, reason why i preffer a manual equalizer. The important thing here is k850 came with the same audio hardware than walkman phones. The megabass feature is good but its something that we can live without with a good earphones and equalizing settings

@Kingbooker
Yeah the k850 Media app is great. The lack of autofocus on the w910 is bad, it should have it. That is something se have to stop, even if they do it in the higher range w9xx.

Sorry, gotta continue in another post as I'm using Opera Mini and there's a text limit. Anyway, @en0203, as you've mentioned, you do not need a nice media player, but would prefer to have MegaBass. I believe most people think the same way, so it makes business sense to use MegaBass as one of the ways to differentiate their products. Of course, if you ask me, I'd like to have everything in one device, and I'm sure most people want that, isn't it?
Hi deluded,
I was thinking to stop replying this thread but it seems rude not to reply yours because you are one of the only few with constructive replies
I see that you also like to have everything in one device. Like what shaliron has mentioned, it takes virtually $0 cost to add in megabass setting for the phone and yet SE purposely left it out. This is what worries me because it shows the determination of SE to go divergence. And in order to stay with SE I'll have to compromise on either camera or sound
It makes business sense to have the customers to buy two products from them, but on the other hands I think they are also driving away potential customers who want the best of both world. I think we all deserve a better choice here. SE should give megabass to the k series users and autofocus to W series users. I am sure if they proceed this way they'll bring back many of old SE die-hearts. Having said that, I wonder SE is already aware of the fact that many SE fans left SE in this forums just because they can't have the best of both world. Just look at the excitement ppl have over W960i when they found autofocus in the camera. I am sure another group on k850i will be excited too if they see megabass in it
@en0203, you are right of course. I for one would prefer to have a good camera together with a decent media player, which is why I'm still hooked on my K750i till now. I'm not too concerned about MegaBass myself, so the K-series still appeal to me.
Look at it this way, if

makes only one series of all-in-one phones, it'll be harder to market them since they'll be exactly the same as all the other brands in the market. Now, with the :walkman: and Cybershot branding, it makes their products stand out from the rest. That's not to say they shouldn't have one series that both. They can still do that, but they'll price them accordingly, so that most people who can live with having either a better camera or a better media player will go for the more affordable models, while those who absolutely must have both will have to pay a premium.
