It depends. Camera phones have to compromise so much. Nokia, SE and the like are doing the best they can but it is an uphill battle for them to put really, really good cameras in phones. With this being said, I accept what I get and use Adobe Lightroom to fix most of it.

Yup. I just dumped Apple Aperture for Adobe Lightroom. Not as processor intensive. I have a 17inch MacBook Pro, Core 2 Duo, with 3 gigs of ram and Aperture was still bogging it down. It was a mess. Apple is supposedly fixing it. Anyway, Lightroom is nice, works well, and I am pretty pleased.
I also have an N95 and I think the camera is crap. They say the next release should fix things from a software point of view. Here's hoping.

You both are absolutely right even though it is not very even match up to compare camera phone with dSLR, lol.
Anyway I have warned lots of them that 5mp on camera phone may not yield better result as 3/2mp one. Noise is a worse nightmare but many ppl insist that they want 5mp on camera phone.
I have no doubt that 5mp K850 will get decent picture in sunshine (as any other 5mp camera phone/digicam) but indoor photo will definitely struggle. K800i xenon flash is very low power and can't compare with onboard dSLR flash. However my K800i is definitely produce much better indoor pics than my in laws N73. My very old Nikon CP950 (only 2mp) takes better indoor pictures than K800i.
In fact my Pentax 5mp digicam and my friend's 7mp olympus digicam also produce crap pictures and can't compare with my old 6mp D5D KM dSLR for indoor pics. Sensor size matter and unless there is a breakthrough, you can't just pack more MP in the same sensor size without getting the noise penalty. Some ppl always think bigger MP is better while there are many other factors that make up a picture. And no, not even Carl Seiz lens can help making a noisy sensor produce cleaner pictures. They can put noise cleaner on the phone but then detail will be lost.

Until October, noone can tell what the cam is really going to be like so theres no point debating about it, wheter the prototype photos look bad or not. This thread will be filled with arguments that have no evidence until its actually released. Yes eldar and others have said expect similar quality to K800/k810 although its not concrete proof - come back once we have final cam quality pics in october and start this thread back up again.
