today had my friend's p990 beside my m600 , and tried some function at the same time on both phones...
Guys, my M600 looked like it was an F1 can and the P990 was like an old antique !
And this is why we (P990 users) need at least one last update more badly than you guys

but still the sound is not as it should be and can be fixed !
I suppose their strategy is as always:
"NEVER GIVE TO THE CONSUMER AN 100% WORKING PHONE BECAUSE THEY WILL NOT BUY ANOTHER ONE.
GIVE THEM A PHONE WITH POTENTIAL, BUT LET THEM BE ABLE TO USE IT 80% MAX OF ITS CAPABILITIES AND THEN BRING TO THE MARKET A BETTER MODEL ... THEN THE USER HAS NO OTHER CHOICE, HE WILL BUY THE "BETTER" NEW MODEL "

... I think updates are okay but should only really be installed "if" there's an issue that needs serious resolution! my M600i was working fine and I decided to update anyway... it stopped syncing with my PC after the update! I could transfer files and all but wouldn't sync with outlook anymore. since i couldn't sync, i could only restore contacts via beaming from my P910a... well, this lead to this issue where the phone would get stuck in these restart loops... after fighting with SE US and 2 phones later, it seems okay but I always what would have happened if I'd never done the update in the first place! i love it regardless, though... awesome unit!

My new SIM card is not working any better so I guess it's the same problem as tecmobility has.
I called SE service desk and they hadn't heard about it before. They recommended to update the phone again although i already has the latest SW flahed on it.
@tecmobility: have you tried this?

I updated several time but I can assure you that this is know as a a bug by SE, at least by Italian staff. The issue is they do not have a solution.

anjexe - yes, it's the best there has been (or is likely to ever be).
It's generally more stable, faster, more memory free at startup etc... it doesn't have any of the "new" bugs introduced with the latest P990 and W950 firmwares.
