This is my first touch screen, stylus, wheel, keypad phone and I'm well impressed by it. I really struggled trying to use an N95 the other day. It just felt so clunky having to navigate using the joypad. I just wanted to click straight on the item.

The only thing I hate about the P1's interface; those damn small icons at the top to get at task manager and things. A real pain when I'm in the car and need to turn the multimedia sound up quickly.

Yes, I am EXTREMELY impressed how ACCURATE the iPhone touch screen is.

that is because apple is the first smartphone w/ multi-touch display. so the screen is more fluid and smooth. but aside from it being real thin, i do NOT like the fact that its very simple and it doesnt offer real applications like there are for symbian, ppc. i mean the people should NOT have to hack the iphone to go thru the hassle of adding apps/games. maybe future will tell what it holds for us. but currently, iphone is for people who are NOT into intensive smartphone usability. but the iPOD is awesome! definitely im a mp3 avid user and i wish something was that comparable for SE. Walkman series dont cut it for me.

Well, iPhone is great considering how it bahaves. But this touch keyboard is miserable when you want quickly write 10 pages of mail! It's not for business.

on the other hand I disagree... its thebest phone keyboard I have ever used and I can write 10 times faster using it than using T9 on a normal keyboard

Any small mobile phone keypad is going to be limiting, I mean, who is going to write 10 pages of emails on a phone???
You either get something huge with a full qwerty keyboard, something with a normal mobile phone keypad with the 3 letters on each key or something inbetween. I like a small device, if you want a big one then the best one to use is a LAPTOP. After that, something like a Nokia communicator. After that the market gets more specialised and you pick according to taste. If you don't like the P1i keypad, don't buy it. Plenty of us who want a small handset with improved functionality over a typical mobile phone keypad will enjoy the P1i.

I can't see the iPhone being available as cheaply as the P1i. Throw in the lack of real software for the phone and I'm certainly not interested.

It's a fashion statement more than a smartphone.
