fully understandable how you reacted. though wouldve waited on the burglar to enter instead of opening the door. your lucky was just one here they work in groups of 4-5 and armed raping and killing people. had my house broke into they didnt get anything..ran them off at swordpoint. as to your gf explain to her you acted to defend your lives. and be patient women arent used to seeing things like that . she will understand. be patient. good luck

re: your GF, you have to understand that they are very emotional and seeing you bash the knees of that burglar definitely would make her think you're a cruel person. I think if she really knows you and she really loves you then she will get over it very easily, so don't be so hard on yourself. I think her reaction would be a whole lot different if you screamed with her in the first place...
