Still, it's not much help is it? If you don't know where you stand when sending texts. I've always gone back and amended a text if I'm just a few characters over (ie into the next text) but how can you know with the P1i if it's accurate or not?

well if you want to figure out what the bug is.. you should test it.. i have a 3000 sms plan so i'm never concerned with going over.

i would test for you but i don't have p1 anymore

I just tried that and its only 1 one mine, even if I change the character set. Sounds very strange to me. What firmware you on?

FYI Here is the complete SMS charcter set

Using any character not in the table will force the charset into ucs2.

I've just tried it again and only one text this time! I seem to have this fault intermittently and it's nothing to do with character sets. Bizarre.

you could try an unbrand and upgrade, i got mine to world generic 1 and now have latest firmware. Could just be an issue with your early firmware
